Maasai girls marry young leaving little time for education.

Due to the post election violence in 2008 which turned over 350,000 Kenyans into refugees and the impending global financial crisis, most poor Kenyans have become even poorer. The effect is devastating on the children as they are leaving school to rummage through dumpsites to get food or things to sell.  Girls fare even worse as they are being forced into sex for candy worth 5 cents.  An increase of 50 cents in food cost does not effect westerners very much, but if you make $1 per day, this is astronomical.  Therefore, we are putting and added emphasis on getting the children food.  Thank you for your contribution which will help feed needy children in Kenya.

Since 2006 we have been bringing books and school supplies to children in Kenya.  Without your help this would never be possible.  Thank you for your donations and your prayers.  May you have a blessed and prosperous 2009!

"We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.  Everybody can be great ... because anybody can serve.  You don't have to have a college degree to serve.  You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.  You only need a heart full of grace.  A soul generated by love."

Stacy and children in Kenya

Habari Yako? (How are you?/kiswahili) Kenyan Child Education Fund is an international non-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering children in Africa. After spending 3 years in Kenya I have witnessed first hand the poverty, disease and violence which afflicts the innocent children of Africa. Schools are inadequate at best. Food is a luxury and proper sanitation and housing is only a dream for most children in Kenya. Over half the country lives on $1 per day and most children do not have access to health care facilities. If you turn 5 in Kenya, you are considered lucky, as the infant mortality rate is extremely high. Floods, starvation and sexual and physical abuse among girls and boys is a major factor in keeping the children of Africa from living a good and long life. We at Kenyan Child Eduction Fund aim to raise awareness about the plight of children in Africa. Our goal is to educate and instill good self-esteem among the children of Africa. These children have been left behind for many years and through your support we can make a difference. WHAT ABOUT AFRICA?

Thank you for visiting our website.  We are based in Nairobi, as we service the poorest slum areas in Nairobi. Our mission is to bring Americans and Africans closer together via the internet.  We will be posting photo journals, webcams, newsletters and we hope to enlist penpals for the children and sponsors for the families.  Kenyan Child Education Fund is a Christian organization which believes that God has challenged Americans to stand up in the midst of terrorism, war, rebellious youth and crime on the streets, to show the love of God by helping those in the most need.  We will help educate the youth, teach the Word of God, supply access to much needed medical care, provide food and clothing and other essential needs.  What we take for granted in America is valued with great reverance in Africa.  The price of a cup of coffee can provide a vaccine to save a life.   I know America has the Spirit of Love and Compassion to reach out and help our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
